We are currently preparing for our 5th External audit for ISO 9001:2008 by ISOQAR, the UKAS Accredited Certification Body.
Meeting the requirements of this standard provides quality management systems that are of real benefit to our organisation to help manage our business effectively and put in place best practice methodology.
ISO 9001 Certification shows we have the proven quality systems to build ever improving customer satisfaction, staff motivation and continual improvement in our production of vacuum formed plastic sheet and film.
Lauren comments “The effort we put into gaining this certification pays off by displaying to each other and our customers that our systems work and do keep our quality high and measured. The certification allows us to have our finger on the ball of all aspects of the company from plans for growth over the next 12 months, to individual staff skill assessments. The process encompasses the entire organisation and requires senior management to be involved at all levels. To achieve the ISO 9001 certification our organisation needed to demonstrate that we can meet the regulatory requirements and apply the system effectively to be of real benefit to our customers.”
ISO standards are reviewed every five years to ensure they remain useful tools for the marketplace. The challenges faced by business and organisations today are very different from a few decades ago and ISO 9001 2008 has been updatedto ISO 9001 2015 to take this new environment into account. Lauren will be working with the auditor to prepare for these changes in April 2016, 18 months before required to do so.
In preparation for the next audit Lauren will be sending out some customer questionnaires over the next few months so look out for them.
