Lauren Whigham, Business Manager at Euro Extrusions has been working with the company full time for 9 years now but spent many of her school summer holidays working in the factory with her Dad. Lauren originally wanted to train as a pilot and took many flying lessons in preparation of her dream. It was whilst at Lancaster University studying History of Art that Lauren realised that perhaps a career in the air was not for her and on completion of her degree she returned to work at Euro Extrusions. Lauren comments “I certainly started at the bottom, that’s for sure! I worked on the factory floor granulating initially and then moved into the office making tea and coffee and doing the filing. I then trained to get my NEBOSH Certificate which is the National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety and worked in customer services and order processing with some accounting experience. Although challenging at times I enjoy my current role as Business Manager as I love the day to day contact with customers and it is a great feeling when we do a really good job.”
Lauren adds “as plastic extruders we have become a major force in supplying thermoplastic sheet and film. This is largely due to having a wealth of extrusion knowledge and experience, knowing the market, predicting trends and looking after our customer’s requirements. We specialise in manufacturing a comprehensive range of extruded thermoplastic sheet and film for thermoforming, vacuum forming, fabrication and printing, as we say – it’s a plastic world!”
