Thermoforming plastic is an invaluable building material

Thermoforming

Thermoforming is a manufacturing process in which a plastic sheet, such as Polystyrene (HIPs)Polypropylene, or other similar plastics, is heated and softened to a temperature where it becomes pliable and mouldable. It is then moved to the forming station where, by a process of vacuum and air pressure, it is then pulled down over a mould of whatever desired shape.

Many different objects can be manufactured this way, from disposable cups and containers to key fobs and vehicle parts. Some building materials are also manufactured this way.

Plastic thermoforming is an essential part of the building sector, and high impact polystyrene thermoplastic (HIPs) is widely used for things such as roof vents, underfloor heating systems, ducting, fascia panels, and bath and shower rooms.

Manufacturers know that thermoforming is an extremely efficient process when compared to other processes which have higher running and tool costs. Thermoforming is an automated process and so it is more economic and produces faster cycle times.

Thermoformed plastics are strong but lightweight, making them easy to transport; easy to install and require low maintenance; cost effective and much cheaper than other traditional materials; durable and made to last, do not rot or corrode and are scratch resistant; easy to use.

Thermoformed plastics are also very convenient, as you can produce components that can be easily joined. And, finally, plastic can be recycled and is environmentally friendly.

Plastic extruders Euro Extrusions Ltd. is a market leader in supplying thermoplastic sheet and film. With many years in the industry, Euro Extrusions has amassed a wealth of plastic extrusion knowledge and experience.

Euro Extrusions has certified ISO 9001 status. We can create sheet and rolls in Polystyrene, High Impact PolystyrenePolypropylene and a host of other plastic sheet and film.

Euro Extrusions can produce virgin as well as recycled plastic sheet or film, and we can recycle our customer’s own waste plastic. Euro Extrusions keeps ahead of the current trends and can even adapt our manufacturing methods to accommodate our customer’s requirements.
